Carla Thomas is a global features journalist for the Post News Group. As a media professional she has generated hundreds of feature articles and photos on non-profits, filmmakers, celebrities, trade delegations and small businesses. She has written articles on President Barak Obama, heads of state in Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, and other global leaders and celebrities. Her articles and broadcast segments can be seen in a variety of publications and websites.
The native San Franciscan, and Howard Universtiy graduate served as a producer for BET and the BET Jazz Channel, and many shows created by the cable network nationally and abroad. As an broadcast coordinator and global sales director for Space Systems Loral, she managed the satellite transmissions and negotiaged contracts for The Chinese Television Network, The California Channel, The Filipino Channel, and TV New Zealand, among others while representing the company at industry trades shows. Her work in adverstising, marketing, and public relations have provided her with a 360 degree skill set in communications. Carla currently has multiple projects in development in media and technology.
As CEO of Carla Thomas and Associates she offers her extended platform of professional services, including publication, advertising, journalism, community outreach, strategy, business and curriculum development services.
She has served on multiple boards and has strategized or provided media coverage for a multitude of organizations and events geared toward the betterment of small businesses, children, education, music and tourism.
Carla Thomas has been honored as Christian Woman of the Year, by her sorority, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. and served as an honoree and guest speaker at the Women of Inspiration awards ceremony. She is a proud member of the Oakland NAACP and ABWA among other organizations. She is a longtime member of Acts Full Gospel Church of God in Christ and lives by her favorite scripture:
