Morandon A. Henry is a dedicated advocate and a symbol of resilience, actively shaping the landscape of gun safety advocacy, political engagement, and community leadership. He currently serves as the National Partnerships Associate at Everytown for Gun Safety, playing a pivotal role in advancing the organization's mission to reduce gun violence and create safer communities. With expertise in cultivating strategic partnerships, particularly with corporations and Black-led organizations, including the Congressional Black Caucus, Morandon is instrumental in executing initiatives to address the urgent issue of gun violence.


Morandon's journey in advocacy began with the Oakland NAACP Imani Youth Council, where he served as Youth President. This early involvement laid the foundation for his lifelong commitment to the NAACP, where he has served from the local level to the national level, including on the National Board of Directors.


Prior to his role at Everytown, Morandon worked at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC), where he managed the intern and fellowship program and played a crucial role in mobilizing over 100,000 Americans during the 2020 General Election, contributing to Democratic control of Congress. He also interned with the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation in the office of Congresswoman Barbara Lee.


A native of Berkeley, California, Morandon earned his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Oral Roberts University.


Morandon recently served on the NAACP National Board of Directors, where he held the positions of Vice Chair of the Political Action and Legislative Committee and Vice Chair of the NAACP Image Awards. As Vice Chair of the Image Awards, Morandon played a significant role in transforming the awards to better reflect the diverse contributions of African Americans in the arts. Recognizing the cultural significance of hip-hop, he championed the creation of specific  award categories dedicated to hip-hop artists, honoring their artistic excellence and cultural impact.

Morandon's story is an inspiring example of the transformative power of advocacy, collaboration, and ethical leadership in driving positive societal change.

Most recently, he was honored by Washington Life Magazine as a 2024 Mover and Shaker.
