Publisher, Post News Group

Paul Cobb is the Publisher of the Post News Group and a lifelong advocate for civil rights and community empowerment. His journey in activism began in 1965, when he traveled to Selma, Alabama during the height of the voting rights movement and later worked as a reporter for the Oakland Post.

In December 2004, Mr. Cobb purchased the Post News Group, pledging to continue its legacy of telling the stories that matter most to the Black community, while also addressing the broader social issues that connect and shape our shared lives.

A well-known West Oakland community organizer, Mr. Cobb previously led the Oakland Citizens Committee for Urban Renewal and served as a mayoral appointee to the Oakland Board of Education. His work reflects a lifelong commitment to justice, civic engagement, and amplifying community voices.
