Tyler Waugh is a proud native of Oakland, California, and the oldest of four siblings. A graduate of Redwood Christian High School (Class of 2016), Tyler served as President of the NAACP Oakland Imani Youth Council from 2014–2016, a role he regards as one of the most meaningful honors of his early leadership journey.

Tyler is currently completing his Administrator Certification and State Licensing through Community Care Licensing under the California Department of Social Services. He has spent the past decade managing two state-licensed community care facilities, Bright Star Residential Care Home, Inc. and Calandria Residential Care Home, Inc., where he has maintained an A+ compliance record through both the Regional Center of the East Bay and Community Care Licensing.

Deeply inspired by his parents, Rondie and Patrice Waugh, founders of both facilities and lifelong advocates for compassionate community care, Tyler has embraced their commitment to service, dignity, and excellence. His responsibilities include regulatory compliance, staff oversight, safety preparedness, and ensuring supportive, respectful environments for residents.

Tyler is passionate about supporting individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities as they navigate life with dignity and autonomy. Known for his warm, grounded, and culturally responsive approach, he strives to create spaces where individuals feel seen, supported, and empowered.

Above all, Tyler is a devoted father to his son, Kingston, and continues to lead with purpose, compassion, and deep love for his community.
